Three Teen Girls Sent to Hospital After an Assault

June 28, 2019

Three teenage girls needed to be taken to the Emergency Room after they were beaten by a group of individuals last Friday evening outside of a public pool in Germantown.

Montgomery County Police confirmed to Germantown Pulse that the attack occurred on Friday, June 21 at about 6:30 pm at the Germantown Outdoor Pool at 18905 Kingsview Road in Germantown.

Police spokesperson Rebecca Innocenti said that two groups, one group consisting of three juvenile females and another larger group of both males and females met in the parking lot of the County pool. Police said that they believe that, at least, some members of both groups knew each other.

Innocenti said that the incident started as a verbal altercation, and became a physical altercation. Three victims called police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue units were called and responded, but the victims declined to be transported to the hospital. However, she confirmed that all three victims later went to seek medical treatment at a local hospital on their own. All three had non-life threatening injuries but one did have injuries to her head, according to Innocienti.

Innocenti said that “this was not a random or stranger-based incident. The victims knew at least some of the attackers.” She added that 5th District detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the MCPD 5th District Investigative Section at 240-773-6237.
