Three Cars Stolen from Germantown Area

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from May 19 through June 1.

Police report that three vehicles have been stolen in the Germantown area during the last weeks of May.

MCPD arrested 19-year-old Daniel Barris, of McCubbin Lane in Germantown after he was located in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday, May 29. The vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Camry, was reported stolen from the 18200 block of Smoke House Court in Germantown between approximately 11:00 pm on May 29. Police located the vehicle a few moments later at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Dairymaid Drive in Germantown, after a friend of the vehicle’s owner called the owner to say that a strange person was in the car at the location. The owner called police who responded and found the vehicle and the suspect.

A few days earlier, on Saturday, May 25, a 2014 Nissan was stolen from the 13300 block of Dovedale Way in Germantown at approximately 9:56 pm on May 25. Key was left in the vehicle. This vehicle has not been recovered.

A third vehicle, a Honda Odyssey, was stolen from the 23000 block of Winged Elm Drive in Clarksburg between approximately 6:45 pm on Monday, May 27 and 2:00 pm on May 31. This vehicle has not been recovered.

Montgomery County Police reported that an armed robbery occurred in the 19900 block of Crystal Rock Drive at approximately 9:45 pm on May 26. One suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the adult male victim’s wallet, cash, phone, and belt as he walked in the parking lot. The suspects took money and property from victim and fled on foot. The victim described the suspects as two black males, age 18 years old.

A residential burglary occurred in the 11400 block of Applegrath Way between approximately 11:30 am and 2:30 pm on May 31. Forced entry; property was taken. A witness described suspect as a black male, age unknown

Police also reported a number of thefts from vehicles;

Two thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately May 21 and May 25. One theft occurred in the 23000 block of Birch Mead Road and one theft occurred in the 22800 block of Arora Hills Drive. No force; money and property were taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 20400 block of Alderleaf Terrace between approximately 4:00 pm on May 24 and 8:00 am on May 25. No force; money and property were taken.

Another theft from vehicle occurred in the 20500 block of Seneca Meadows Parkway between approximately 11:45 am and 1:15 pm on May 31. No force; property was taken.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between May 24 and May 29. Affected streets included Germantown Road, Willow Spring Court, and Summer Oak Drive. Force; property and vehicle parts were taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the area of Wonderland Way and Dairymaid Drive between approximately 10:00 am and 10:15 am on May 27. No force; cash was taken.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on June 14.
