One Man Injured in Germantown Park Fire

One man was seriously injured after firefighters responded to a fire in the Germantown Park neighborhood of Germantown on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 1:00 pm on May 1, Montgomery County Fire Rescue units were called to a Sage Way home for a fire, according to MCFRS officials. Firefighters found a fire in the bedroom of two-story quad-style building.

According to MCFRS officials, one adult male was transported from the scene via ambulance with “possible life-threatening injuries” and a second adult male was evaluated by EMS personnel at the scene but refused transport. He is said to have sustained non-life threatening injuries in the fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, MCFRS investigators were on scene to determine the cause of the fire. At press time, a cause was not made public by MCFRS. Police had Cinnamon Drive closed in both directions for about 90 mins while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
