The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Germantown man as a suspect in a shooting which took place at a funeral service in Frederick County on April 20.
Police officials from Frederick County have identified Demar Cortze Allen, 27, of the 11400 block of Locustdale Terrace in Germantown as a suspect in the shooting incident at a funeral service at Jackson’s Chapel in the 5600 block of Ballenger Creek Pike in Frederick County on Saturday, April 20.
Frederick County Sheriff’s responded to the Jackson’s Chapel United Methodist Church after receiving calls reporting a shooting. Responding officers found two victims suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, a Sheriff’s Office news release stated. Both victims were taken to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries were unknown but believed to be non-life threatening. Witnesses reported that the suspect had fled the area prior to emergency personnel arriving.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office believes the shooting was a direct result of an altercation between individuals at the service.
The funeral service was for Trevor Allan Frazier, 24, of Frederick, according to an obituary published by Gary Rollins Funeral Home. Frazier had been fatally shot with another Frederick County man in a double homicide in Prince George’s County on April 7, according to a release from the Prince George’s County Police Department. Frazier and 26-year-old Raymond Giles of Frederick, were shot and killed in the 5000 block of Fable Street in Capitol Heights.
Court records indicate that, in January of 2016, Demar Allen, the suspect in the April 20 shooting at the funeral service, was convicted of second-degree assault and violating a protection order in Frederick County Circuit Court.
