Police Investigate Overnight Shooting Incident in Germantown
Detectives from the MCPD’s 5th District in Germantown are investigating a shooting in which the caller reported shots fired but no injuries. The incident occurred overnight on Friday morning, March 8.
According to police, at approximately 1:15 am on Friday, the Montgomery County Department of Police – Emergency Communications Center received a call from an adult male victim stating that he had just been confronted by an unknown suspect who fired multiple shots at him from a handgun. Officers from the 5th District responded to the area of the 12600 block of Wisteria Drive and Laurel Grove Terrace where the victim was located.
The victim stated he was not injured and the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle. There was no suspect description provided according to Capt. Thomas Jordan with Montgomery County Police, investigators discovered evidence of shots being fired in the area of the 12600 block of Wisteria Drive. The evidence was collected as part of the investigation.
The preliminary investigation by police indicates this incident does not appear to be a random event, according to Jordan, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
