Police Arrest Three Teens Connected to Silver Spring Armed Robbery

Montgomery County Police have arrested three Germantown-area men in connection with an armed robbery which took place in the Silver Spring area earlier this month.

   Police have arrested and charged Jeffery Akowuah, 18, of the 13000 block of Pickering Drive in Germantown; Ralph C. May, 19, of the 12300 block of Juniper Blossom Place in Clarksburg; and Jordan T. Smith, 18, of the 12900 block of Falling Water Circle in Germantown.

   Each man was charged with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Theft stemming from an armed robbery of three adult males which took place at about 7:45 pm on Monday, Feb. 18 in the 2300 block of Westview Drive in Silver Spring, according to police. Police believe that the victims and the suspects knew each other prior to the incident.

   The three suspects were arrested later that evening. Officers recovered a BB-gun from inside the vehicle after the suspects were stopped by police. All three were released on Unsecured Personal Bond and are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on March 15.
