Victim Robbed of Sneakers in Clarksburg

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Jan.  27 to Feb. 9. 

   Police report that a two adult brothers were playing basketball in the area of 22400 Brick Haven Way in Clarksburg at about 4:10 pm on Sunday, Jan.  27, when they were approached by two young black males as they walked through a parking lot. Police say one of the suspects assaulted and choked one of the victims. The suspects then removed his sneakers from his feet and fled the area.

   Montgomery County Police reported another strong-arm robbery occurred in the 13300 block of Dovedale when in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 3. According to police, three adult females were assaulted by two black males of unknown age. Police said the victims were sisters who were walking to their apartment when one suspect approached and attempted to grab the handbags of two of the females. The second suspect then joined the first by knocking the victims to the ground and grabbing the handbags. Once the victims’ handbags were acquired the suspects fled the area on foot.

   Police reported that a 2018 Nissan Sentra was stolen from the 18700 block of Harmony Woods Lane between approximately 8:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 7 and 3:00 am on Friday, Feb. 8. The victim told police that a set of keys to the vehicle were lost in December. The vehicle was recovered a little more than week later in the 13700 block of Palmetto Circle in Germantown.

   MCPD reported the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from the 26100 block of Purdum Road in Damascus between approximately 12:01 am on Jan.  20 and 10:00 am on Jan.  27.

   Police also reported a residential burglary in the 20300 block of Century Boulevard between approximately 6:30 pm on Jan.  26 and 10:57 am on Jan.  28. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

   Fifth District Police reported a number of thefts from autos in the Germantown area during the reporting period, including:

   A theft from vehicle occurred in the 23000 block of Sycamore Farm Drive in Clarksburg between approximately 4:00 pm on Sunday, Jan.  27 and 7:30 am on Monday, Jan.  28. No force; cash and property were taken.

   A theft from vehicle occurred in the 17800 block of Marble Hill Place in Germantown between approximately 4:45 pm on Wednesday, Jan.  29 and 7:30 am on Thursday, Jan.  30. No force; property was taken.

   A theft from vehicle occurred in the 19300 block of Churubusco Lane in Germantown between approximately 7:30 pm on Monday, Jan.  28 and 7:00 am on Thursday, Jan.  29. No force; property was taken.

   A theft from vehicle occurred in the 17500 block of Charity Lane in Germantown between approximately 6:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 4 and 9:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 5. No force; cash and property were taken.

   One theft from vehicle occurred in the 20000 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown between approximately 9:00 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 6 and 6:30 am on Thursday, Feb. 7. Force; property was taken.

   Two thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 7 and 7:30 am on Friday, Feb. 8. One theft occurred in the 10000 block of Damascus Boulevard and one theft occurred in the 24800 block of Showbarn Circle in Damascus. Force was reported in one event; property was taken.

   A theft from vehicle occurred in the 19300 block of Circle Gate Drive in Germantown between approximately 11:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 7 and 7:00 am on Friday, Feb. 8. No force; property was taken.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on February 22.
