Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Sunday Afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Germantown area beginning at 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon, February 17 until 3:00 am Monday morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of wintery weather will cause primarily travel difficulties. “A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving,” said the National Weather Service.

   The advisory for the UpCounty portion of Montgomery County calls for freezing rain mixed with sleet and snow. “Total sleet and snow accumulations of less than an inch. Ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch expected,” said the National Weather Service.
