Luisito Rosario & Marlow Rosado Spice Up Valentine’s Weekend with LATIN PASSION at BlackRock

Salsa star Luisito Rosario teams up with two-time Grammy winner Marlow Rosado and his orchestra to bring LATIN PASSION to BlackRock this Valentine’s Day weekend, Friday, February 15 at 8:00 pm. Because a salsa performance is nothing without dance, the Studio Theater dance floor will be open as Latin Passion showcases “salsa romántica,” what Rosado calls, “the softer side of salsa.”

Latin Passion marks a return engagement for Rosado, his fourth appearance at BlackRock. He previously performed with Lenia Diaz in a tribute to Celia Cruz last fall, on the lawn last summer as part of BlackRock’s Summer Concert Series, and alongside Tito Puente Jr. a year ago.

“Latin Passion will spark both passion and fun, it’s a dream come true that Marlow and Luisito were available to put this together for our audience this Valentine’s Day,” said BlackRock Executive Director Alyona Ushe. “We strive to provide a performance lineup that is as diverse as our community, and it’s a treat to present a romantic Salsa program like this alongside the Celtic and Jazz performances we’ll have in the next month.”

New Jersey native Luisito Rosario has been immersed into the roots of Salsa music since he was tapped by Larry Harlow to be the lead vocalist for his orchestra in 1996. At the same time, he joined the popular New York Salsa band “Grupo Hechizo” where his lead vocals would be the catalyst behind the charting CD Sin Limites. His seemingly overnight success in the industry would give him the opportunity to tour around the world including many parts of the U.S., South America, and Europe, spreading the Latin culture to fans along the way.
