Germantown-Area Residents Earn College Honors and Degrees

A number of Germantown residents either earned degrees from various colleges and universities, or earned honors during the fall semester.

  

Those students earning degrees include:

   Anjali Jain of Germantown was among more than 1,000 students from Miami University who received degrees during fall commencement exercises. Jain graduated with a Master of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology.

   Germantown resident Chloe Maczka was among the nearly 340 undergraduates who received degrees from the University of Dayton during the fall 2018 commencement ceremony. The University of Dayton is a top-tier, national, Catholic, research institution.

   Naomi Sheppard of Germantown, graduated from Troy University during the Fall Semester/Term 2 of the 2018/2019 academic year. Sheppard graduated with the Bachelor of Science degree.

   James Madison University is announced that Julia Marie Danis of Germantown, graduated with a degree in Media Arts and Design.

 

The following students achieved academic honors in the fall semester:

   A number of Germantown residents were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Delaware in the fall of 2018, among them where; Abigail Green, Emily Lyman, Roma Majmudar, Daniella Statia, and Kayla Jan. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

   University of San Diego student Taylor Hamer of Germantown earned First Honors in the Fall Semester of 2018. First honors students have a grade point average of 3.65 or higher.

   Germantown resident, Mona-Mae Juwillie was named to the dean's list at Miami University (Ohio) for the 2018 fall semester. Juwillie is majoring in International Studies. Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within their division for first semester 2018-2019 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic performance.

   Mount St. Mary's University announced that 679 students earned dean's list honors for the Fall 2018 semester. Among those honored from the Germantown area were; Sewa Gunn, Kayla Kebreau, Angel Madariaga, Jeneieve Maitland, Mariah McLane, Richard Medina, Cynthia Sen Bassi, Ashley Torkornoo, Lesly Villavicencio, all of Germantown, and Katherine Corr of Darnestown.

   Sabrina Jo Snowberger of Germantown, was named to The University of Alabama President's List for fall 2018. A total of 12,332 students enrolled during the 2018 fall term at UA were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).

   The University of Dayton honored the following undergraduates from Germantown for making the fall 2018 dean's list for achieving a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester; they are Chloe Maczka and Devin Vann.

   John Helmanis of Germantown has been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for earning Honors for the fall 2018 semester. Helmanis is majoring in Economics.

   The following students from the Germantown area have been named to the dean's list at Frostburg State University in recognition of outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2018 semester. To be eligible, a student must undertake a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn a cumulative semester grade point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. Among those named to dean’s list were: Jessica Cebula, Sonah Che, Marilyn Gweh, Jennifer Hernandez, Lionel Kiti, Facia Moulton, Jessica Schuessler, Patrick Vaughan, Stephanie Vigezzi, and April Winemiller.

   Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Ally Salvino of Germantown, a member of the class of 2022 majoring in mathematical sciences, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2018 semester.

   McDaniel College announces its Fall 2018 Dean's List, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Students included: Juliette Levchenko,who earned Highest Honors; Kathalyn Urquizo, who earned High Honors; Abigail Hernandez, who earned High Honors; Matthew Anzalone, who earned Honors; and Patrick Keane who earned Honors, all are residents of Germantown.

   Elizabeth Wilson of Darnestown, has been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the Fall 2018 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the Fall 2018 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. Wilson is an undeclared major at Plymouth State.

   Larissa Dowling of Germantown was named to the Dean's List at Muhlenberg College for the Fall 2018 semester. To earn this academic achievement, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the term.

   Henry F. Gomez of Germantown, a biomolecular science/chemistry major, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

   University of the Cumberlands has announced Henry Quaye of Germantown has been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and be in good academic standing.

   Emma Bentz, of Germantown, a sophomore Mechanical Engineering major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean's List with Distinction for the Fall 2018 semester. She is a 2017 graduate of Poolesville High School. Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean's List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

   Hannah Roach of Germantown, was named to the Dean's List at Lehigh University in the Fall 2018 semester. Dean's List status is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses,

   Kaylan Jackson, of Germantown, has been named to the Fall 2018 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

   Benjamin Jones of Germantown, a junior Music major at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2018 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

   Alexandra Johnson, a Elementary Education major from Darnestown, was one of 850 students at Coastal Carolina University earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Fall 2018 semester. The academic achievement earns them a spot on the President's List.
