Missing Germantown Man’s Car Located in Delaware

Germantown resident Osogho Odu has been missing for 12 days, and Montgomery County Police are now reporting that his vehicle was located in Delaware, but Odu hasn’t been located.

The 66-year-old Odu, of the 18200 block of Swiss Circle, was reported missing by his family on Thursday, Jan. 24 when they received a telephone call from him, stating that he was having car trouble just over the Montgomery County line in Howard County. According to MCPD spokesperson Rick Goodale, before calling the police the family set out to find Odu at the location where he’d run into car trouble, but neither Odu or the car was found in the area. At this point, the family became very concerned and called to report him missing.

Montgomery County detectives placed Odu and his vehicle, a gray 2017 Hyundai Tucson with Maryland tags: ICT5531, into the missing persons database. The next day, on Friday, Jan. 25 police in Delaware reported finding Odu’s gray Hyundai Tuscon near the Reedy Point Bridge of the Fort DuPont State Park in Delaware City, Del. Investigators have not located Odu. The last time the family had has heard from him was a phone call at about 1:10 pm on Jan. 24, stating that he’d had car trouble.

Odu is described as an African American male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Osogho I. Odu is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (available 24 hours). Callers may remain anonymous.
