Former Clarksburg Standout Named Conference Player of the Week

Washington College junior forward Dallas Marshall, former player at Clarksburg High School, has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 21-27 by the conference office. Marshall garnered the award for the first time and is the first Washington College player to win the weekly award in four years.

Marshall, who graduated Clarksburg in 2016, averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 71.4 percent from three-point range in a week where the Shoremen won two and lost one game. He tied his career-high for points with 21 in a 74-65 win over Muhlenberg on January 21 to give Washington its first win over the Mules since the 2014-15 season. Marshall also hauled in eight rebounds and handed out three assists versus the Mules.

On Thursday against McDaniel, he scored a team-best 17 points for the Shoremen. In an 82-80 victory at first-place Johns Hopkins on Saturday, he totaled eight boards, including three on the offensive end that led to four points, and ended up with seven points in the upset victory and the squad's first win over Johns Hopkins since January 2016. His three-pointer with 1:28 left in the first half were final points of the half and allowed Washington to be tied with the Blue Jays at halftime, 45-45.

Washington College was founded in 1782 and was the first college chartered in the sovereign United States of America. Is located on Maryland’s Eastern shore in Chestertown. The Shoreman are 9-11 this season with five regular season games remaining.
