Expected Cold Forces Change in Black Hill Regional Park Family Day

Black Hill Regional Park was planning a Family Day on Monday, Jan. 21, but Mother Nature has force the organizers to reschedule. With temperatures and wind chills to dip well below freezing on Monday, the event has been rescheduled for President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 18.

The free event, in which volunteers will help young learners explore nature topics using collections that they can view under microscopes, touch, and examine, will be held Monday, Feb. 18 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be hands-on demonstrations, puppet shows, nature hikes, bird watching, raffles, and a Native American skills and gathering demonstration. A lucky student will win a nature item in one of several raffles.

The event will be held at Black Hill Regional Park Visitor Center, located at 20926 Lake Ridge Drive in Boyds. For more information check out the Black Hill website or call 310-528-3493.
