BlackRock will be hosting the award-winning Vital Theatre Company’s production of ANGELINA BALLERINA THE MUSICAL on January 25 at 10:00 am, and then again on January 26 at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
With book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo, music by Ben Morss, and direction and choreography by Sam Viverito, Vital Theatre presents their adaptation of the popular dancing mouse at BlackRock Center for the Arts.
ANGELINA BALLERINA THE MUSICAL, presented by Vital Theatre Company breathes new life into the classic Angelina Ballerina storybooks created by Katharine Holabird. Similar to its source material, ANGELINA BALLERINA THE MUSICAL follows the dream-chasing mousling, Angelina, as she works hard to reach her goals by overcoming various obstacles along the way. In this adaption of the critically acclaimed tale, Angelina and her friends prepare for special guest Serena Silvertail as she makes her anticipated appearance at Camembert Academy. Angelina and the gang perform various dance routines from different genres of dance including hip-hop, modern, Irish jig and, of course, ballet throughout the duration of the show to showcase an engaging family-friendly performance that will have the audience dancing on their feet.
Since its inception, Vital Theatre Company has maintained the mission of producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences. Vital Theatre has been honored with several awards since its establishment it in 1999, including the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Musical and two Awards for Excellence by the Off-Off Broadway Review. Vital Theatre Company has presented over 100 original productions for a large number of children and families in the area.
"Kids, especially those who enjoy dressing in pink and twirling around the room, will adore the choreography...frilly costumes and the pleasant songs." - Time Out New York Kids
