Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from December 15, 2018, through December 29, 2018.
Police report that a woman was robbed when she met up with potential buyers of a collection of children’s shoes and sneakers, who she had connected with over social media. Police said the adult female was attempting to sell the shoes, valued at $800 over the FaceBook Market app when she was contacted by a potential buyer on Friday, December 21. A meeting was arranged for about 10:30 pm that even in the 20300 block of Beaconfield Terrace. According to police, the victim met two people, a Black female and a Hispanic male. During the transaction, the victim became uneasy and began to walk away, at that point the male hit her and pushed her to the ground. The suspects then took the shoes she was trying to sell.
MCPD also reported a stolen vehicle which occurred in the 13200 block of Chalet Place in Germantown. Police report that on December 13, a 2008 Subaru Outback was broken into through a rear window and keys and lunchbox were stolen. Police also said that the same Subaru Outback was reported stolen on Tuesday, December 24. The owner said it was taken from Chalet Place between 2:00 pm on Monday, Dec. 23 and 12:09 pm on Dec. 24.
Police reported three residential burglaries:
The first occurred in the 10100 block of Lewis Drive in Damascus between approximately 11:30 pm on Dec. 24 and approximately 9:00 am on Dec. 25. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken. No suspect information available.
Another burglary occurred in the 19700 block of Teakwood Circle at approximately 12:00 pm on Dec. 25. Forced entry; nothing was taken. No suspect information available.
A third residential burglary was reported in the 12600 block of Black Saddle Lane between approximately 2:30 pm and approximately 9:10 pm on Saturday, Dec. 29. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.
MCPD also reported two commercial burglaries in the 5th District in the last two weeks of December.
The first commercial burglary occurred at a building under construction located at 19525 Doctors Drive between approximately 5:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 14 and approximately 10:00 am on Saturday, Dec. 15. Forced entry; property was taken.
A second commercial burglary occurred overnight on Dec. 20 when a shed at Bobby’s Garage located at 9913 Lewis Drive in Damascus was burglarized between approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday, Dec. 20 and approximately 7:30 am on Friday, Dec. 21. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
Police also reported a number of thefts from vehicles, MCPD urges all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.
Two thefts from vehicles occurred between Dec. 16 and Dec. 21. One theft occurred in the 10100 block of Shelldrake Circle and one theft occurred in the 10000 block of Lewis Drive in Damascus. Force was reported in one event; cash was taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Dec. 18 and Dec. 22. Affected streets included Middlebrook Road, Century Boulevard, Deerwater Drive, Waters Landing Drive, and Rhinestone Drive in Germantown. Force was reported in two events; cash and property were taken.
Two thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 1:00 am on Dec. 20, and approximately 8:00 am on Dec. 21. One theft occurred in the 11500 block of Fenchurch Court and one theft occurred in the 20000 block of Choctaw Court. No force; property was taken.
Three thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Brink Road, Lord Philip Court, and Apperson Way in Germantown. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.
A theft from vehicle occurred in the 10200 block of Johns Drive between approximately 12:00 pm on Dec. 25 and approximately 1:25 pm on Dec. 26. No force; property was taken
Two thefts from vehicles occurred between Dec. 21 and Dec. 26. One theft occurred in the 19000 block of Warrior Brook Drive and one theft occurred in the 14800 block of Clopper Road. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.
