Clarksburg Mom Wins Big on Wheel of Fortune

December 19, 2018

A mother of five from Clarksburg won big on Tuesday night’s episode of Wheel of Fortune.

Natalie Eades, of Clarksburg, won cash and prizes valued at $54,750 and a trip to London on the Wheel of Fortune game show which aired Tuesday, Dec. 18 on WLJA (ABC 7) at 7:00 pm.

Eades is married to her “phenomenal husband” Derek for 10 years, and they have five children. She works as a director in early childhood education who is married with five children. She is also a classically-trained dancer. She loves eating, watching movies, and listening to music. Natalie has been tuning in to America’s Game since she was young. She grew up watching with Wheel of Fortune her parents, who are from Haiti and used the show as a way to learn English.

The years of watching the show paid off, as she was able to win the first two toss-up rounds correctly guessing “LIGHTING CANDLES” and “SOUTH DAKOTA” for which she won $3,000. She went on to win the first “Spin” round by correctly solving the puzzle for “OLD-FASHIONED FRUITCAKE.” That fruitcake earned her another $3,800.

She added another $1,950 to her total by solving the third puzzle as “BUCKINGHAM PALACE.” And that puzzle was a clue to where the game show would be sending Eades, on a trip to London worth $7,000. She then won the third toss-up round correctly guessing “TOGETHERNESS” to add another $3,000 to her total.

Eades didn’t win the next two rounds, but her total winnings at the end of the Wheel rounds was $18,750 which sent her on to the bonus round where she was able to quickly and correctly solve the puzzle for “NEWBORN FAWN” prompting show host Pat Sajak to say, “You made that look easy.” She won an additional $36,000 in the Spin & Win round. Clearly, the years of watching the show growing up paid off.

Her husband Derek joined her on stage to share a hug and rejoice at Natalie’s victory on the show.

After years of loyal viewing, and at the encouragement of her mother, Eades began her journey to become a contestant when she submitted a video and application through WheelofFortune.com and attended a Wheelmobile event in Dulles, Va.

Because she was playing during this year’s Wheel of Fortune “Secret Santa Holiday Giveaway whatever she won on Tuesday night’s show, a lucky Wheel Watchers Club member at home can win too. However, they must have an active Wheel Watchers Club SPIN ID number and match Eades Secret Santa ID tag. Potential winners have 24 hours after the show’s initial broadcast at 7:00 pm to claim their prize. Maybe, just maybe, another Clarksburg resident might win, too.
