As the Holidays Draw Near, BlackRock Presents IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE

BlackRock Center for the Arts will be welcoming the Immediate Theatre Project to the Mainstage as they present IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. On Sunday, December 9 at 6:00 pm, the innovative theater production company will be bringing its rendition of the classic Radio Theater production based on the Jimmy Stewart film to celebrate the spirit of the holidays with the audience of BlackRock.
Through the eye of director and former cast member Rebecca Morris, the Immediate Theatre Project breathes new life into the beloved Frank Capra film originally released in 1946. This fresh adaptation follows the story of George Bailey, a resident of the fictitious town of Bedford Falls. Just when he was hoping to get out of his small town, everything he holds close to him comes crashing down, ultimately causing him to contemplate suicide. This is when his guardian angel appears to show him how the lives of his loved ones would be different if he were never born.
The voice actors portraying this story within a story are enduring a problem of their own. Stuck in the midst of a blizzard, they are unable to get to the radio station, but the show must go on. With quick wits and the small number of items they have at their disposal, the actors work to save their station and bring this classic tale to life once more. Immediate Theatre Project brings new life to American classics time and time again, while exposing audiences to the best of contemporary drama.
