The area is bracing for the first storm of the season which will bring wintery weather to the Germantown area and all of Montgomery County and surrounding counties. Mixed precipitation is expected begin falling overnight and with total sleet and snow accumulation of up to one inch, and ice glaze accumulations of one tenth to two tenths of an inch expected. The wintery mix will into the morning commute making travel conditions hazardous, according to the National Weather Service.

“Be very careful if you venture outside tomorrow. Watch your first few steps in particular as your step or path may be coated with ice,” said the National Weather Service.  “A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
