Music, Comedy, Peace, and The Wizard: A Diverse Set of Shows Coming to BlackRock Starting Nov. 15

With the 2018-19 season underway, BlackRock is ready to show everyone why they should be considered one of the most diverse performing arts venues in the area. BlackRock is offering a diverse offering of performances spanning across Thursday, Nov. 15 to Monday, November 19.

The Nashville duo Danika & The Jeb will kick off the packed weekend on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 pm. With over 100 different radio placements and over 1000 concerts performed together since their establishment, Danika & The Jeb have seen a great deal of success since forming their popular acoustic duo. The duo have opened for a number of mainstream heavyweights such as Lyle Lovett, Dierks Bentley, Phil Vassar, and many others as well as being named 2016 Artists of the Year from Concerts in your Home.

Then, 3 Redneck Tenors will bring their comedic opera to the Mainstage on Friday, Nov. 16 at 8:00 pm. Comprised of Matthew Lord, Blake Davidson, and Jonathan Frugé, The 3 Redneck Tenors are a mixture of down home laughs with big city music. With a combination of sidesplitting comedy and audience interaction, the Dallas-based trio was able to make it as top 10 finalists on the popular talent program America’s Got Talent as well as making an appearance on Larry The Cable Guy’s History Channel Show, Only in America.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, Atzilut: A Concert for Peace will spread a powerful message of peace in the Studio Theater while the Ivy League of Comedy brings their clean comedy to the Mainstage. The Ivy League of Comedy will bring their hilarious charm to BlackRock Center for the Arts with comedians Tom Ryan, Clayton Fletcher, and Shaun Eli who make up “The Stars of Radio and TV.” This trio of experienced comedians will showcase their clean comedy to the main stage. The comedy and the concert for peace start at 8:00 pm on Saturday, Nov 17.

Finally, on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm and Monday, Nov. 19 at 10:00 am, Vital Theatre Company will present their unique adaptation of The Wizard of Oz with munchkin puppets. Vital Theatre helps audiences rediscover the joy of accompanying Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion as they embark on a journey through the wonderland that is the world of Oz. This rendition of The Wizard of Oz was adapted, designed, and directed for Vital Theatre Company by Michael Schloegl, one of the founding members of that troupe.
