BlackRock’s Launches its Brand New Tenor Series with TRI - The New Irish Tenors
BlackRock Center for the Arts is opening its brand new Tenors series with TRI - The New Irish Tenors on Friday, November 2nd at 8 PM. These Gaelic masters will enthrall audiences on BlackRock’s Mainstage when they seamlessly blend their vocals to show the audiences in Germantown the true glory of traditional Irish music.
Comprised of Daniel T. Curran, David O’Leary, and Karl Scully, TRI - The New Irish Tenors are the next generation of Irish storytelling. The fresh-faced trio, banding together a little over a year ago, were not satisfied with the current status of how Irish traditions were being conveyed, so they formed TRI – The New Irish Tenors with the goal of presenting a more modern listening experience while incorporating aspects of traditional Irish music.
Fresh off their performance at the Orlando Philharmonic, the ensemble of Irish storytellers has already made a splash in the Irish tenor community. Showcasing songs with rich Irish tradition like Danny Boy, Molly Malone, In the Rare Old Times, and many more, The New Irish Tenors also present a slew of remade classics like Anthem and Here’s for the Heroes.
BlackRock’s Tenors series is the most recent addition to the manifold of series offered in the 2018-19 season. The series features a number of diverse and accomplished tenors, each one specializing in their own unique brand of music and traditions. In addition to TRI – The New Irish Tenors, the series features live performances from:
• The 3 Redneck Tenors on Friday, November 16.
• The Sicilian Tenors on Saturday, December 1.
• The Rat Pack of Opera on Saturday, March 16.
