Stolen Minivan and Eight Burglaries Reported in 5D

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from September 24 through October 13. 

   Police report that a minivan was stolen from a Germantown street and recovered two weeks later. According to police a 2006 Toyota Sienna was stolen overnight between Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7 from the 12300 block of Silvergate Way in Germantown. The vehicle was reported to be have been left unlocked with the keys inside. Police also reported that the minivan was recovered at early in the morning on Friday, Oct. 19 parked in the parking lot at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown.

   Police report that an attempted vehicle theft occurred in the 12200 block of Eagles Nest Court in Germantown between approximately 12:00 am and approximately 8:45 am on Saturday, Oct. 13. Police were unable to determine how the vehicle was entered but no force was used, and the valet key was found in the ignition, but the vehicle would not start.

   MCPD reported seven residential burglaries and one commercial burglary between Sept. 24 and Oct. 13.

   The commercial burglary occurred at Rentals Unlimited located at 24000 Frederick Road in Clarksburg between approximately 5:30 pm on Oct. 13 and approximately 5:00 am on Oct. 15. Forced entry; property was taken.

   The first residential burglary occurred in the 14100 block of Shaeffer Road in Germantown between approximately 12:00 pm on Sept. 3 and approximately 10:00 pm on Oct. 10. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

   The second residential burglary occurred in the 100 block of Limpkin Avenue in Boyds between approximately 4:00 pm on Sept. 26 and approximately 7:00 am on Sept. 27. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

   A third residential burglary occurred in the 17900 block of Red Rocks Drive in Germantown between approximately 12:00 pm and approximately 7:19 pm on Sept. 27. Forced entry; property was taken.

   Another residential burglary occurred in the 20300 block of Century Boulevard in Germantown at approximately 6:30 am on Sept. 30. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

   MCPD reported an attempted residential burglary occurred in the 13200 block of Wonderland Way in Germantown at approximately 12:13 pm on Oct. 2. Suspect: White Male of an unknown age.

   Another residential burglary occurred in the 22200 block of Woodfield Road in Gaithersburg between approximately 11:30 am on Oct. 6 and approximately 11:00 am on Oct. 10. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

   Finally, police reported a residential burglary occurred in the 19500 block of Middlebrook Road in Germantown between approximately 6:00 pm on Oct. 12 and approximately 10:39 am on Oct. 13. Forced entry; property was taken.

   MCPD reported a number of thefts from vehicles during the two weeks. Police urge all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.

   Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1. Affected streets included the 10100 block of Durango Drive and the 24400 block of Cutsail Drive. No force; cash and property were taken.

   Three thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 6:15 pm on Sept. 24 and approximately 11:00 am on Sept. 27. Affected streets included Bonmark Court, Fountain Hills Drive, and Mateny Hill Road. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken

   An attempted theft from vehicle occurred in the 20400 block of Apple Harvest Circle in the early morning hours of Oct. 9.

   Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 9:00 pm on Oct. 11 and approximately 1:10 pm on Oct. 13. Affected streets included Wedgeport Lane, Ambassador Terrace, Coral Grove Place, Wisteria Drive, Grey Eagle Court, and Willow Spring Drive. No force; property and vehicle parts were taken.

   Four thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Harvest Scene Court, Steed Court, Musser Court, and Stags Leap Terrace. No force; cash and property were taken.   

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on October 19.
