The Gubernatorial General Election is November 6, did you know there are three ways to vote in Maryland Elections?
• Vote by Mail (Absentee Voting) – If you’re unable to vote in person, you have the option of casting a ballot by mail. Visit the Montgomery County Board of Elections website – www.777vote.org – or call the Montgomery County Board of Elections at 240-777-8550 to request an application. If you request a ballot by mail, you may then only cast a provisional ballot at the polls for Early Voting or Election Day. Absentee and provisional ballots cast by eligible voters are all counted before the results of the election are certified.
• Early Voting – Choose where and when you will vote! From October 25 to November 1, between the hours of 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, you may visit one of eleven Early Voting Centers to cast your ballot in person using the same technology available on Election Day. During Early Voting you may also register to vote the same day you vote. You must have a photo ID and proof of residency to register.
Early voting in Germantown happens at the Germantown Community Center located at 18905 Kingsview Road in Germantown. Other UpCounty Early Voting Centers are The Activity Center at Bohrer Park located at 506 S. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg and The Damascus Community Recreation Center located at 25520 Oak Drive in Damascus. Visit the Montgomery County Board of Elections website – www.777vote.org – for more information and, during Early Voting hours, to see up-to-date wait times at each of the Centers.
• Election Day – Your last chance to vote will be November 6 when polling places will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm You must go to your assigned polling place to cast a ballot.
Be prepared – visit the Montgomery County Board of Elections website – www.777vote.org – to make sure your registration is current and to find your polling place. You’ll also receive a sample ballot in the mail with this information.
