UpCounty Chambers of Commerce Meet at Sugarloaf Mountain Event

September 19, 2018

The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC),Frederick County Chamber and Poolesville Chamber of Commerce joined forces to bring its members together for the 7th Annual "Evening of Networking" at the Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain on Thursday, September 12, 2018.

Over 200 business folks attended the exclusive event in the hopes to make new connections and/or strengthen their existing ones.

“Our annual joint mixer is a great event and a great way for our members to visit a new area”, said Marilyn Balcombe, GGCC President/CEO. “Chamber of Commerce networking events give local business owners and community members a space to network, help each other, work together, and stand together. We were so delighted to have the opportunity to mix and mingle with our neighbors from the North. Working together for one common goal – our members.”

Each Chamber provides its own unique benefits. Currently, it can be difficult for small businesses to stay afloat. It can also be especially difficult for those businesses to advocate for themselves in government affairs. That’s where a Chamber of Commerce comes in. One person alone would have a very hard time making their voice heard, but united by a Chamber of Commerce, a real impact can be made. A Chamber of Commerce has many benefits, but most importantly, it is a network of people who can share information regarding many different things.

The GGCC is active in providing business-to-business networking opportunities throughout the year: a collective voice in local, regional, and state legislative affairs, professional development opportunities and other services that enhance the business environment. We are here to answer any questions you may have regarding business, economic development or trending legislative issues that our area is facing.
