Get ready for a full day of free wholesome activities for the entire family, as the Town of Poolesville will host is 26th Annual Poolesville Day celebration on Saturday, Sept 15. This year the Town of Poolesville is celebrating its 151th Anniversary. The day will include a morning parade, an electric vehicle car show, rides and games, food and vendor booths, and live entertainment.
The event will take place along Fisher Avenue (Rt. 107) in Poolesville, with the main stage and other activities being held at Whalen Commons, in front of Poolesville Town Hall.
Poolesville Day has grown rapidly since its inception and typically attracts more than 12,000 attendees – double the town’s population – from all over Montgomery County, Frederick County, and the greater Washington, D.C. area. The free event, which is held rain or shine, runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and kicks off with a 5K run sponsored by the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce
The 5K is followed by the Historic Poolesville Day Parade with Link Hoewing serving as the Grand Marshal. More than 150 artisans, exhibitors, service and food vendors including Poolesville businesses are expected to be supporting Poolesville Day.
There will also be a Skateboard contest at the Skateboard Park at Dillingham Park at 10:30 am.
Live entertainment will be provided all long on three stages, including featured performances by Soul Island rebels from 12:00 to 1:30, and the main attraction The Reagan Years from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the Whalen Commons Stage. Other performances include Touch of Grey, FUSE, Karousel, No Stop Light, and Semi-Hollow, as well as Zumba dance demonstrations.
Another highlight of the day will be the 2017 Car Show, sponsored by Poolesville Green, in commemoration of National Drive Electric Week. Also, children can enjoy a wide range of activities, including amusement rides, moon bounce, pony rides, face painting, skate contest and more.
