Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Wisteria Drive
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from August 13 through August 28.
Police report that an adult male victim was robbed at gunpoint as he walked in the area of Wisteria Drive and Father Hurley Boulevard in Germantown in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 19. According to police, the victim left a friend’s house on Wisteria Drive at 4:48 am and was walking toward Father Hurley Blvd. when he noticed two men standing on the road ahead. The victim crossed the street to avoid the men, however, they followed him. The two men, a Black male in his twenties and White male between 30- and 35-years-old approached the victim. The White male took out a hand gun and pointed it at the victim’s head, while the other man searched his pockets. The suspects took $600 and fled the area on foot. According to police, after the initial report, the victim stopped cooperating with the detectives investigating the incident.
5th District police also responded to an attempted strong arm robbery which occurred in the area of Ridgecrest Drive and Hickory Tree Way in Germantown at approximately 7:58 pm on Monday, Aug. 27. According to police, a male victim was walking when he suddenly felt someone attempt to reach into his back pocket and grab his wallet. The suspect then forced the victim to the ground from behind and attempted to take his wallet, but the victim was able to fight the suspect off. The victim reported that two Black suspects then ran away from the scene as police were being called.
