Candlelight Vigil to Mark Four Years Since Hoggle Kids Went Missing

Friends and family of Troy Turner and his children Jacob and Sarah Hoggle will gather next Friday in Germantown to honor and celebrate the lives of the two children who went missing allegedly at the hands of their mother, Catherine Hoggle.

Supporters will gather for a candlelight vigil at the spot where the nightmare began for Turner and his family, the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Germantown on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 pm. Jacob was just two-years-old and his sister, Sarah was just three-years old. Jacob would be now be six and Sarah would be seven.

September 7 marks the four-year anniversary of the date the children went missing. Their mother Katherine Hoggle, of Clarksburg, has been indicted Montgomery County Grand Jury murder of her two children, Sarah and Jacob.

Friends and family gathered in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot in 2014 for a candlelight vigil to pray for the safe return of Jacob and Sarah. The fate of the children remains unknown

Hoggle has a long history of mental issues including a being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

The Chick-Fil-A was where Catherine Hoggle went missing after Turner pressed her for answers as to where the children were. As Turner and Hoggle prepared to go to the police Hoggle disappeared creating a week-long county-wide search for the then 27-year-old mother and the two children. She was finally taken in to police custody a week later in Germantown about a block from the Chick-Fil-A.

Since being taken into captured in Germantown, Catherine Hoggle has been in custody at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center where she’s continues undergoing psychiatric evaluations. The last four years have seen numerous trial dates, and status hearings and each time the mother is found to be incompetent to stand trial in her own defense. Catherine Hoggle was last deemed to be incompetent on February 21. She remains in custody and her next court hearing is scheduled for November 30 before Judge Michael Mason in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
