Body Found in Germantown Parking Lot Identified as Missing Frederick County Teen
The body found in the trunk of a vehicle parked at Walmart on Friday night has officially been identified as a missing 19-year-old from Frederick County.
Montgomery County Police released the identity of the deceased as Nicholas Ryan McGinnis, 19, from Middletown, Md.
5th District Officers found in the trunk of his a 2006 white Chrysler 300C which had been parked in the Milestone Shopping Center in Germantown. McGinnis was reported missing five days on Monday, June 4.
According to a report by the Frederick News Post, McGinnis struggled with drug addiction on and off for the past three years, and it is believed that he had relapsed the night before he went missing.
McGinnis’ body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy was conducted to determine the manner and cause of his death. The autopsy results are pending, but the OCME reported no visible signs of trauma to McGinnis’ body. Police said that this incident remains an active death investigation and MCP Major Crimes detectives continue to coordinate with Frederick County Sheriff’s Office detectives during this investigation. Investigators are working to find the circumstances of how the deceased had ended up in the trunk of the vehicle and other questions surrounding his death.
