It has been a tough couple of weeks for 7-Elevens in Germantown. It was an especially dangerous weekend for the convenience retailers. One was the location of a shooting on late Sunday night, early Monday morning and another location was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon.
Montgomery County Police announced Monday evening that at 2:49 pm on Saturday, May 19, 5th District officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 12861 Clopper Road for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating the robbery. Investigators have released a surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
The investigation by detectives revealed that an adult male employee was behind the counter when the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the registers. The suspect obtained currency from the business and fled from the 7-Eleven.
Police are also continuing to investigate the shooting which occurred at 7-Eleven store located at 19786 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. According to Sargent Rebecca Innocenti, a spokesperson for MCPD, the victim is a 28-year-old male who received non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the victim and a group of individuals had gotten into a dispute inside the store and he was shot shortly after he left the store.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
