Missing Germantown Man Has Been Located Safe

Update: May 18, 2018 – Chein Ngo Chaing has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the 5th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Germantown man.

Chein Ngo Chaing, 53, was last seen by family members at approximately 7:30 am, this morning May 15, when he left his home on Fountain Club Drive on foot.

MCPD spokesman Officer Rick Goodale said that this is not the first time Chaing has gone missing, but is the first time police have been notified. According to Goodale, Chaing has no vehicle, no money, and has some medical issues. The last time he was missing, he was found as far away as Wheaton.

Chaing is described as an Asian male, approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Chaing was last seen wearing a blue Nike pullover sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red, white, and black colored tennis shoes.

Chaing is without his medication and police and family are concerned for his welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Chein Ngo Chaing is asked to call the 24-hour police non-emergency line at 301-279-8000.
