Screamin' Eagles Fall in First Round of LAX Playoffs

May 10, 2018

Both the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams’ seasons have ended after losses in the first-round of the 2A West playoffs on Wednesday night.

The boys’ team fell to Walkersville 21-4 and the Lady Eagles lost a hard-fought game in Damascus, 14-8.

The 2-8 boys’ team traveled to Walkersville for a match-up with the 4-10 Lions. The Eagles were over-matched as Walkersville jumped out to an early multiple goal lead. The Lions lead 9-1 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. Seneca Valley was able to get three goals in the final two-minutes but it was too little too late.

Walkersville not 5-10 will travel to Montgomery County to face 10-2 Damascus on Friday, May 11 at 6 pm.

The Damascus girls also advanced to the second round earning a victory over the 1-7 Seneca Valley girls. The Lady Eagles kept the game close for most of the game, but the Hornets pulled away to earn a 14-8 victory. The 7-5 Lady Hornets will travel to face 11-1 Poolesville on Friday, May 11 at 6:00 pm.
