Police Report Two Auto Thefts and Residential Burglaries

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from March 13 through April 1.

Police report two vehicles were stolen from the Germantown area last month. Both vehicles were stolen on Friday, March 16. The first was a 1997 Geo Prism taken from the 19700 block of Germantown Road between approximately 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.

The second was stolen later that same night between 10:00 pm and noon the following day, Saturday, March 17. Police report a 2005 Chevy Aveo was stolen after the keys were reported left inside the vehicle in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. Police report that the vehicle was recovered later that day and two people were arrested after it was stopped for a traffic stop while driving without headlights at 12:10 am on Sunday, March 18. Police arrested 21-year-old Milton Fuentes from Frederick and a female juvenile at on East Diamond Road and Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County Police reported three residential burglaries.

The first was a residential burglary and theft from vehicle occurred at the same residence in the 14200 block of Bear Creek Drive in Germantown at approximately 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 15. No signs of forced entry, the suspect(s) used the vehicle keys found in the house to unlock and enter the vehicle; property was taken.

MCPD report that a residential burglary occurred in the 23100 block of Yellowwood Drive at approximately 3:21 pm on Sunday, March 18. Forced entry; nothing was taken

The third residential burglary occurred in the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive between approximately 10:00 am and approximately 3:30 pm on Sunday, April 1. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

There were a number of thefts from vehicles. MCPD urges all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 15. Affected streets included Rockingham Road, Buskin Lane, and Gate Dancer Lane. No force; cash and property were taken.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on April 20.
