Montgomery County Police are investigating a shooting left one adult male shot in the face on Sunday in Germantown.
Police confirmed that officers were called to the 18300 block of Timko Lane in Germantown, just off Clopper Road for the report of a shooting at 11:59 on Sunday, April 8. Montgomery County police have released any more information about this incident other than confirming that detectives are investigating a shooting.
Germantown Pulse learned through police radio traffic that the shooting was part of a home invasion robbery at the address. The victim was transported to a local hospital by MCFRS EMS. According to MCFRS radio traffic, the victim was shot in the mouth, and the bullet exited through his cheek and re-entered his upper-body near the shoulder.
MCPD radio communications shortly after the incident described the suspect as a black male teen wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants. The suspect fled on foot from the area. According to sources, it is believed that the incident was not random and the victim and suspect were known to each other. The source also said that drugs might be involved in the incident.
The incident sparked a security response at nearby Northwest High School where students were preparing for the school musical which was to be performed later that Sunday afternoon. Police responded and found nothing at the school.
Northwest Principal Jimmy D’Andrea took to Twitter to calm students and parents, “Approx. 2 hrs. ago, there was a shooting in the community about a mile from Northwest. As a result of news reports, there were rumors that there was an incident at the school. The police responded, and there is no incident at the school. The musical is on schedule for 2 pm.”
There were no incidents at the school, and the show went on.
