Winter Storm Watch Issued for Germantown Area on First Day of Spring

For the first time this winter, the National Weather Service, has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Germantown and all of Montgomery County for the storm which is heading our way with the potential to drop up to five inches of heavy wet snow in the next two days. Ironically, the first Winter Storm Watch of the season will begin on the first official day of Spring.

The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory which will go into effect at 6:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20 and remain until 6:00 pm Tuesday, when it will turn into a Winter Storm Watch.

The Winter Storm Watch will last from last Tuesday night through Wednesday evening, March 21.

“Wet snow expected Tuesday, with total wet snow and sleet accumulations of up to an inch, along with a thin layer of ice,” said the NWS. “Additionally, heavy wet snow possible Tuesday night and Wednesday, with a total wet snow accumulation of 5 or more inches poss
