Police Charge Two Brothers in Connection with Germantown Burglaries, Seek More Victims



Two Germantown brothers have been arrested and charged in connection with at least two burglaries which have occurred in Germantown in recent weeks. Police are asking for other possible burglary victims to come forward and report the crime.

On Friday, Feb. 16 detectives arrested and charged 18-year-old Ke-Onta I. Goldsberry, and 23-year-old Christopher Goldsberry, both of the same address on 13200 block of Country Ridge Drive in Germantown. Ke-Onta Goldsberry was charged burglary and firearm-related offenses after he attempted to sell stolen property online. While Christopher Goldsberry is facing burglary and assault charges after he was also found to be in possession of property that had been stolen from a Germantown residence.



According to police, on Monday, Feb 12, a resident reported that his home located in the 20600 block of Shadyside Way in Germantown had been burglarized. The victim told police that the items stolen from his home included an Xbox One gaming system and an Xbox game controller. The next day, Feb. 13, investigators learned that Ke-Onta Goldsberry was selling these items online.

Three days later, on Thursday, Feb. 15 police received the report of a burglary on Waterside Circle in Germantown.

On Friday, Feb. 16, detectives observed Ke-Onta Goldsberry exit his residence carrying a duffle bag and a fanny pack and leave the area in a vehicle. Officers stopped that vehicle and located the stolen Xbox One and game controller in Goldsberry’s duffle bag. Officers also located a loaded 9mm handgun in Goldsberry’s fanny pack.

Ke-Onta Goldsberry was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with first-degree burglary and firearm-related offenses. He was released after posting a $3,500 bond, according to police.

Later that afternoon, investigators observed Christopher Goldsberry placing items into the trunk of a vehicle on Sweetgum Circle in Germantown and leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers stopped that vehicle and located property that had been reported stolen during a residential burglary on Waterside Circle which was reported on the day before.

Christopher Goldsberry was arrested by officers and transported to the 5th District station for a police interview. During the police interview, Christopher Goldsberry assaulted a 5th District officer. Christopher Goldsberry was transported to CPU where he was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He was released after posting a $15,000 bond.

During this investigation, investigators recovered property that they believe was stolen from recent residential burglaries that may have not yet been reported to police. Detectives are attempting to locate the owners of this property and are asking that any victim of a recent burglary that has not yet reported the burglary to police to contact investigators at 240-773-6237.
