Police Deploy Taser to Subdue Naked Man on Street

Officers from the Montgomery County Police Department’s 5th District “tased” man who was running naked around a residential neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.
According to 5th District Commander Mark Plazinski, officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call in the 19500 block of Caravan Drive at about 12:30 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Before officers arrived one of the parties involved began running around the street naked and screaming.
Officers encountered an unidentified 22-year-old suspect and attempted to have him comply with their lawful orders. The Pulse has learned that it is believed that the man may have been high on sort of drug and had become violent with a family member. At one point he sat naked on the hood of a MCPD cruiser and began screaming incoherently.
According to Plazinski, when the suspect began approaching officers and not obeying their commands one of the officers deployed an electronic control weapon, commonly known as a taser. The man fell to the ground and was placed in custody.
“He was transported to Holy Cross Hospital for medical treatment and a petition for emergency evaluation,” said Plazinski. “I do not believe additional criminal charges will be placed.”
