Another Icy Water Rescue at Ten Mile Creek

Two days after Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units had to rescue three people from the icy waters of Ten Mile Creek where it traverses West Old Baltimore Road, another motorist tried to cross the icy creek and his vehicle became stuck.

MCFRS units were called to West Old Baltimore Road near Shiloh Church Road shortly after 5:00 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 3 after a motorist became trapped in the icy waters. Fire officials say the occupant of the vehicle was rescue and no one was injured.

It marked the second time since New Years' Day that Fire Rescue had to respond to this location were the Ten Mile Creek crosses West Old Baltimore Road. On January 1, at about 11:00 pm, three people had to be rescued when their sedan became flooded with near freezing water while attempting to drive through the shallow creek.
