Germantown Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting a Woman While She Was Suffering a Seizure

A Germantown resident was arrested and charged with sexual assault after a woman awoke from a seizure to find a man with a hand down her pants.

   According to a WJLA report, a Germantown woman was leaving the 7-Eleven at the corner of Clopper Road and Mateny Road and suffered a seizure while walking home. She collapsed unconscious onto a bench at a nearby RideOn bus stop. She awoke sometime later to find a strange a man with his hand down her pants. Once the victim regained consciousness, the attacker fled the scene on foot.

   According to court documents, the incident took place in August in November police obtained a warrant and arrested Francisco Roberto Sanchez, 41, of the 18700 block of Curry Powder Lane with one count each of second-degree assault, sexual offense in the third degree, and sex offense in the fourth degree.

   Sanchez was arrested on November 16 and has been held without bail. According to the WJLA report, Sanchez has been living in the United States illegally, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has filed an immigration detainer for Sanchez, who the report says is a Mexican citizen.

   Sanchez is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County District Court on Friday, December 15 at 10:00 am for a preliminary hearing. He faces up to 21 years in prison.
