Montgomery County Police are confirming that they responded to reports of shots being fired early Saturday morning in Germantown. This is the second report of gunfire in Germantown within a week.
MCPD 5th District Commander, Capt. Mark Plazinski told Germantown Pulse that officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 13400 block of Whitechurch Circle in Germantown at 2:43 am on Saturday, Nov. 18.
He said that neighbors reported hearing multiple shots. No one was injured in the shooting, but officers did find one bullet hole in the building where the shots were fired. “We believe it was not random,” said Plazinski. “The victim is being uncooperative. We do not have any suspects, but we are following up on a few leads at this time.” He said the victim and the shooter probably knew each other.
Earlier this week, Germantown Pulse reported that shots were fired in the parking lot of Clopper Mill Village shopping plaza on Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road. That shooting happened at about 9:00 pm on Monday, Nov. 13. In this incident, officers did not find any victims. However, police found two spent shell casings in the parking lot.
