Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from October 23 through November 7.
An armed robber has hit the Subway restaurant on Frederick Road again. Police report the Subway located at 19911 Frederick Road was robbed by a suspect who displayed a weapon and stole cash. The incident happened at approximately 9:56 pm on Friday, Nov. 3. According to police, the black male suspect of unknown age, walked into the Subway and pointed a gun at the cashier and proceeded to empty the cash drawer into a bag which he brought with him. He then fled the area.
According to police the same Subway was robbed by a man with a handgun back on Oct. 10. In that case, the suspect in this case took cash and fled the area. Police are investigating if the two incidents are related.
Police also reported a strong-arm robbery in the 23000 block of Sycamore Farm Drive in Clarksburg at about 8:45 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 31. According to police, four black males began following the juvenile male victim after they stopped him to ask what kind of phone he had. Police say that one suspect assaulted him and stole his phone.
A vehicle Dodge Caravan occurred in the 12600 block of Wisteria Drive in Germantown between approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday, Nov. 2 and approximately 7:00 am on Monday, Nov. 6. The vehicle has not been recovered. MCPD are investigating if the vehicle was entered using us a key or with force. This is the sixth stolen Dodge Caravan reported in Germantown since October 20. There have been a rash of auto thefts in the area, police advise all residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave the keys inside vehicles.
MCPD reported a number of residential burglaries occurred in the following areas:
A residential burglary occurred in the 19100 block of Staley Bridge Road between approximately 7:00 am and approximately 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Forced entry; property was taken.
In the 24400 block of Ridge Road between approximately 7:00 am and approximately 5:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 26. Forced entry; property was taken.
A residential burglary occurred in the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive between approximately 11:00 am and approximately 3:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 26. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.
In the 25400 block of Paine Street between approximately 8:45 am and approximately 9:30 am on Friday, Oct. 27. Forced entry; property was taken.
A residential burglary occurred in the 20400 block of Apple Harvest Circle between approximately 9:30 am and approximately 5:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 3. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.
Police also reported a number of residential garage burglaries and thefts from vehicles occurred in the following areas:
At the same residence in the 22300 block of Sweetspire Drive between approximately 9:30 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and approximately 6:45 am on Thursday, Oct. 26. No force, an exterior garage door and both vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; loose change was taken.
At the same residence in the 12300 block of Juniper Blossom Place between approximately 10:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and approximately 8:00 am on Thursday, Oct. 26. No force, an exterior garage door and the vehicle were reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.
Police also reported quite a few theft from autos between October 23 and Nov. 7. Police urge all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in Clarksburg between Tuesday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 29. Affected streets included Morning Star Drive, Brightwell Drive, Country Squire Way, Birch Mead Road, and Skylark Road. Force was reported in multiple events; cash and property were taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in Germantown between Sunday, Nov. 5 and Tuesday, Nov. 7. Affected streets included Eagles Nest Court, Summer Oak Drive, Martins Landing Drive, and Partridge Wood Drive. No force; cash and property were taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in Germantown between Oct. 30 and Nov. 7. Affected streets included Palmetto Circle, Steeple Place, Autumn Gold Road, Bear Creek Drive, Cricket Hill Drive, and Red Pepper Court. No force; property was taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on November 16.
