Multiple Cars Shot at in Germantown Neighborhood Sunday Night

Montgomery County Police are investigating an incident which took place late Sunday night and left multiple vehicles in the residential neighborhood near Roberto Clemente Middle School riddled with bullet holes.

   Police report that at about 11:09 pm on Sunday, Oct. 15 residents called regarding the sounds of multiple gunshots in the area of Forest Brook Road and Pikeview Drive.

   According to MCPD spokesperson Rebecca Innocenti, “Witnesses observed an unknown person described as a thin black male wearing all dark clothing discharge a firearm numerous times at a red Dodge Challenger automobile.”

   Police responded to the area and began the search for the shooter, including a K-9 search, but no suspect was located.

   Officers later located the Challenger containing two uninjured adult males, parked in a parking lot about a mile-and-a-half from where the shooting had taken place. Police found the red Dodge at the Flagship Car Wash Center at 11620 Middlebrook Road. The occupants were had not been shot, but it appeared the vehicle had bullet holes.

   According to Innocenti, “It appeared to officers, that the vehicle had been shot at numerous times. The two men in the vehicle stated to detectives that they had become lost looking for a friend’s house when an unknown person shot at their vehicle.”

   Police found other damaged vehicles on Pikeview Drive also with bullet holes. Police sources at the scene late last night told Germantown Pulse that numerous shell casings had been found in the street where the shooting took place.

   This incident remains under investigation by the 5th District Investigative section.
