Seneca Valley Stunned by Magruder, Northwest Rolls Over Churchill, & Clarksburg Buzzed by the Ho
For the second week in a row, the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles lost. That has only happened 13 times in 43-year history of Seneca Valley football. The Eagles drop to 3-3 on the season after the stunning 18-15 road loss to Magruder on Friday
Meanwhile, Northwest got back on the winning with a 48-21 dismantling of Churchill, thanks to a 35 point second quarter. And Clarksburg was the latest victim of the Damascus juggernaut, falling to the two-time defending state champs 42-0 in the Canyon.
More on the Clarksburg loss and Northwest victory later in the article, the big news which has rocked the MoCo football world is what some are calling a programing changing win by the Magruder Colonels.
Magruder came into the game 1-3 after a 41-0 victory over Northwood, while the 3-2 Eagles were coming off a surprising 31-6 defeat at the hands of Blake last week.
The Eagles got on the board first with an interception for a touchdown midway through the first quarter, but the Colonels answered back with a drive highlighted by a 34 yard run by junior Rashaud Claggett. The drive was capped off by a 15-yard touchdown run by sophomore Mason David. The first half ended with both teams tied at six points.
