MCPD Release Photos of Pizza Hut Armed Robber, Ask Public for Assistance

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the Saturday, Sept. 9 armed robbery of a Pizza Hut restaurant in Germantown, which the Germantown Pulse reported on back on Sept. 12. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

   Capt. Mark Plazinski, Commander of the 5th District in Germantown, 5th District confirmed last month to Germantown Pulse that major crimes detectives were investigating the armed robbery of the Pizza Hut take out store on in the Fox Chapel Shopping Center at 19733 Frederick Road after an armed man enter the store, showed a handgun and demanded money.

   The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant displaying a handgun. The suspect vaulted the front counter and demanded cash from an employee. The employee complied with the suspects demands. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency from the register and fled from the restaurant on foot.

   Police said the robbery took place at about 2:26 pm on Saturday, Sept. 9. He said the suspect is a black male in his 20s. Plazinski said that the suspect was approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a trimmed beard. The suspect was armed with a black-semi automatic handgun.

   “He was wearing a distractive hat,” said Plazinski. Investigators said the suspect was wearing a black baseball hat which had “You Mad Bro” printed on the front of the hat.

   Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division; Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
