Robber, Armed with BB Gun, Attacks Man Sitting in His Car

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from August 28 through September 5.

Police report that man was attacked by an armed assailant while sitting in his car making a late night phone call. According to MCPD, the victim was on the phone in his vehicle parked on the 19300 block of Archdale Road at about 3:40 am on Wednesday, August 30, when an Hispanic male — of unknown age — walked up to the vehicle, opened the driver’s side door, and hit the man in the back of the head with a BB gun. The assailant grabbed the cell phone and fled on foot.

In another incident, which took place the next day, a woman was assaulted and robbed after getting into an argument on a RideOn Bus. According to police, at 6:45 pm on Thursday, Aug. 31, a 20-year old female engaged in an argument with three black females on a RideOn Bus.

The bus driver kicked all four parties off the bus at the bus stop at Sweetgum Road and Father Hurley Boulevard. Once off the bus, the victim attempted to walk away but she was pushed to the ground by one of the group of three females and was robbed of her cell phone. The three assailants fled on foot.

Montgomery County Police report that burglars are targeting beer and wine stores in the area. Three beer and wine stores along Wisteria Drive have been the victims of either commercial burglaries or attempted burglaries between Thursday, Aug. 24 and Thursday, Aug. 31.

The latest was an attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Sugarloaf Wine Cellar located at 12955 Wisteria Drive in Germantown between approximately 9:30 pm on Friday, Aug, 31 and approximately 8:30 am on Saturday, Sept. 1. This is the third beer and wine store which has been the target of a commercial burglary between August 24 and August 31.

The Germantown Pulse previously reported that two beer and wine stores on Wisteria Drive were the victims of commercial burglaries within 24 hours between Thursday, Aug. 24 and Friday, Aug. 25. According to MCPD, three male suspects broke into the Wisteria Beer and Wine store located at 13220 Wisteria Drive in the early morning hours of August 24. Police say the suspects forced entry into the store and stole property.

The next day the SN Beer and Wine store, located at 12081 Wisteria Drive, was the victim of an attempted commercial burglary during the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 25, however the burglars were
