Drunk Driver Injures Two in Frederick Road Crash



A Boyds man was arrested and charged on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated after he drifted across lanes and struck two oncoming vehicles, sending two people to local hospitals.

Montgomery County Police say that on Monday evening June 5, at about 9:42 pm, William Stephan Evans, 50, of Manor Crest Lane in Boyds was traveling southbound on Frederick Road/Rt. 355 in his red 2001 Jeep Cherokee when he crossed into the northbound lane of traffic near Brink Road. The Jeep struck two vehicles that were heading northbound on Frederick Road.


The resulting collision sent two people to local hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that Evans had an odor of alcohol on his breath and was charged with Driving a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Impaired by Alcohol. He was also given tickets for other traffic violations including failure to have insurance, failure to display a vehicle registration card, displaying an expired registration plate, negligent driving a vehicle in careless and imprudent manner, as well as a number of other traffic offenses.


Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue units had Frederick Road shut down in both directions between Brink Road and Milestone Manor Lane for about an hour between 9:45 and 10:45 pm on Monday, June 5.
