Germantown Pulse Launches ‘The Hub’ Community Calendar

June 9, 2017

Germantown Pulse is proud to introduce the Hub, the Community Calendar for all things happening in and around the Germantown/Clarksburg area. The Hub will become the source for area residents to come to find out what events and happenings are going on in the UpCounty. Businesses can use this to promote one day special events, local civic organizations can use it get the word out about meetings, PTAs and schools can the Hub to spread messages about events.

“I have been looking for way to integrate a robust online calendar into the Germantown Pulse almost since the day it went live,” said Kevin O’Rourke, founder of the Germantown Pulse. “I think I may have found a solution, one that would allow the community to populate the calendar and free up the Pulse’s one-person staff to continue to report and write content and news.”

“A community calendar has really been the one aspect which has been missing from the Germantown Pulse, and one that is greatly needed. Readers and community members have been asking for a calendar for a long time,” said O’Rourke. “I am happy to finally be able to find a way to fill that hole in the Germantown Pulse’s array of services to the community.”

The Germantown Pulse will charge a $15 fee to list events in the Hub. Events must be submitted by emailing Calendar@GermantownPulse.net. Events must be submitted by the Sunday, at least two weeks before the event. The calendar will be updated every Monday. This allows for maximum time to promote the event on the Hub.

Please be sure to include all the details for the event including, the title (required) , date, venue, time, location (with a specific address), the name of the hosting organization,  a phone number (required), an email address (required), a website, any cost, a short description of the event, and a photo or logo.

Submitters may pay via PayPal to Kevinor@germantownpulse.net, or by check made out to Germantown Pulse and sent to P.O. Box 305, 13017 Wisteria Drive, Germantown, MD 20874. Payment must be received within five (5) business days of submitting the Hub listing. Any listing which has not be paid for after five (5) days will be deleted, and the organization will not be permitted to post events in the future. Germantown Pulse reserves the right to refuse to publish any event.
