Two Collisions Overturned Vehicles During Friday Morning Rush Hour

June 2, 2017

Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service and police units, along with commuters had to contend with two separate traffic incidents involving vehicles which ended up on their side during rush hour on Friday, June 2.

The first incident took place shortly before 7:45 am on northbound Frederick Road just past the entrance to the Ridge Road Recreation Park. MCFRS transported an adult female to a local hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries after her sedan ended up on its side after a collision.

The northbound lanes of MD-355/Frederick Road were closed while police and fire units cleared the incident.

The second collision happened about an hour later at roughly 8:50 am at the intersection of Crystal Rock Drive and Aircraft Drive. A green Mini Cooper and red Nissan Sentra collided, which sent the Sentra on its side. MCFRS transported several individuals including two children to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The westbound lanes of Crystal Rock Drive, as well as the exit from and entrance to Aircraft Drive at Crystal Rock Driver were closed as officials worked to clear the intersection.

These were the second and third overturned vehicles on Germantown roads this week. On Tuesday, an overturned van snarled traffic on Wisteria Drive for about an hour.
