Two Teens Arrested After Mugging on Germantown Road
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from May 8 through May 16.
Police arrested two teenage boys in connection with strong-arm robbery that took place near the Burger King restaurant in the 20400 block go Germantown Road. According to police the two 16-year-old black males, one from Silver Spring the other from Gaithersburg, after they assaulted a juvenile male victim and took his cash and property. The suspects fled the area after the attack, but were apprehended by officers nearby.
Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, May 8 and Friday, May 12. Affected streets included Walnutwood Lane, Middlebrook Road, Bent Willow Circle, and Sky Blue Circle, in Germantown. Police report that no force was used to enter the vehicles. Two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other two vehicles; cash and property were taken. MCPD urges all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables and locking all doors.
Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Tuesday, May 9 and Sunday, May 14. Affected streets included Metz Court, Metz Drive, and Climbing Ivy Court in Germantown. Police report that no force was used to enter the vehicles. One vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other two vehicles; property was taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on May 25.
