Fryer Fire Brings Firefighters to McDonald's

Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units were called to McDonald’s restaurant at 19660 Gunners Branch Road for a fire in the deep fryer.

Firefighters arrived to smoke showing from the front door of the restaurant and found some rags burning on the fryer, according to MCFRS senior spokesman Pete Piringer. MCFRS reported no extension of fire to the walls or roof of the building. The fire was contained to the fryer area in the kitchen.

Patrons and employees evacuated, and EMS evaluated a few people who were in the building, but no injuries were reported. MCFRS requested a health inspector to the location before the fast-foot establishment can begin serving customers again.
