Construction Work to Close One Lane of Clarksburg Road/I-270 Bridge

April 14, 2017

Construction work will close one lane of the bridge over Interstate 270 on Clarksburg Road just north of the Clarksburg Premium Outlets for about three weeks, beginning Monday, April 17.

The Pleasants Construction Company which is performing the upgrades on the overpass, will begin Phase 4 of the Traffic Control plans, which includes work on the MD Route 121/Clarksburg Road bridge over I-270 on Monday, April 17, according to a Public Notice from the company released on Wednesday.

Workers will be closing one of the two thru lanes on southbound Rt. 121 in the vicinity of the bridge of Rt. 270 while this work is completed. “This will take approximately three weeks,” said the public notice. “Once the median is completed, we will reopen traffic back into its current configuration of two thru lanes until the final surface and paving is completed at which point traffic will be in the final configuration,” said the notice.

Workers will shift the two thru lanes on northbound Rt. 121 to the right side of the bridge. It is hoped that all improvements to the bridge will be completed sometime in June.
