Clarksburg Pharmacy Robbed For Second Time in Two Years
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the March 23 armed robbery of the Thrive Pharmacy in Clarksburg. The pharmacy which is located at 23213 Stringtown Road was robbed on by a man wearing a mask and believed to have a handgun.
Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. The robbery took place at about 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 23. The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the pharmacy, announced the robbery, and vaulted the pharmacy counter. He was wearing a dark black or blue hoodie with a white zipper. A gray tee-shirt could be seen sticking out the back at his waist. He wore long black pants. He also covered his face with a white mask or scarf. The suspect then confronted an employee who was behind the counter, kept his hand in his jacket pocket, and demanded prescription medication and cash from the register.
The employee, who believed the suspect was armed, complied with the suspect’s demands and placed the medication and cash into a reusable shopping bag that the suspect had brought with him. The suspect then fled from the pharmacy on foot toward Frederick Road (Route 355). He could be seen in the video stopping in front of the China Spring restaurant store front, because he dropped something on the ground. He crouched down to pick up some items and left others on the floor, as he ran off toward Frederick Road.

This same location was victimized by an armed robber back on September 3, 2015. In that incident the suspect brandished a weapon and used a backpack.
